Meet Our Chaplains

Joyce DeGreeffJoyce DeGreeff has served as Lutheran chaplain to Northeastern since the fall of 1997. A 1999 graduate of Harvard Divinity School, Joyce has a particular interest in helping students link faith and spirituality with community service and social justice.

Joyce's previous work includes five years of teaching and coaching in Connecticut and Maine and a chaplain internship at Tufts University. In her spare time, Joyce enjoys jazz music, playing basketball, hiking, skiing, playing the flute, and spending time with her husband and sons.


Judith StuartRev. Judith Stuart is an Episcopal priest appointed by the Diocese of Massachusetts to serve as Episcopal College Chaplain to Northeastern University and Boston College. Judith holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University, a Master of Education from Boston College and a Master of Divinity from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Judith's background in health care and administration, and in counseling battered women and children, informs her passion for healing ministry and peace and justice work. Judith has a particular interest in working with young adults who seek to integrate their academic goals and spiritual journey with a life of service to others. In her spare time, Judith enjoys traveling, alpine skiing, scuba diving, relaxing on the beach, and spending family time with her husband and her two college-aged children.
