Payment: Tuition and residence hall payments may be mailed or brought to the Cashier's Office. Checks should be made payable to Northeastern University. Tuition payments using Master Card, VISA or Discover may be made at the Cashier's Office, or by calling 1-800-937-4067.

Beginning with the second week of any semester, students may attend classes only if their tuition has been paid in full or they have made arrangements with the Bursar's Office for the deferred payment plan. If a bill has not been received by the first week of the semester, please go to the Bursar's Office where a bill will be created for you.

Any discrepancies in your bill should be brought to the attention of the Bursar's Office. If there is a billing problem, pay the undisputed portion of the bill to avoid any additional late fees. Financial Aid information and Assistantship Applications

Partial Dean's Scholarships: Full-time graduate students are eligible to receive Dean's scholarship awards to ease the cost of graduate education. The awards are competitive, and not all students are offered scholarships.

Assistantships: Full-time graduate students are eligible to apply for assistantship awards to ease the cost of graduate education. These are highly competitive. Stipend graduate assistantship awards require a work commitment of 20 hours per week and offer a cash stipend and tuition remission for all courses required for your program of studies for the duration of the appointment. Tuition assistantships offer taxable tuition remission per year and require a weekly work commitment of 10 hours. The tuition and stipend benefits for all assistantships may change yearly. Each recipient receives a contract letter detailing the terms of the specific assignment.

Only those who have been accepted as regular full-time students in a graduate program or those currently enrolled as full-time students are eligible for scholarships or assistantships. Therefore, early application for admission and for an assistantship is encouraged. Award recipients are usually selected and notified by June 30. Administrative departments of the University employ graduate students in a variety of capacities - some utilizing their expertise in counseling, teaching, or business. These departments may include the Academic Assistance Center, Undergraduate Admissions, the Bursar's Office, the English Language Center, the Financial Aid Office, the Provost's Office, Disability Resource Center, the International Student Office, Student Activities, and Residential Life.
