Leveraging Resources:
The Benefits of Partnering
By leveraging corporate investments through industrial, university, and government partnerships, CAMMP distributes the risk of cutting-edge materials research and, if deemed advantageous, provides cost-effective access to the new laboratory environment of space.
Companies can leverage their research dollars, while maintaining full intellectual property rights on ideas they bring to the center. By leveraging resources, CAMMP attempts to accelerate the time to market of innovations in materials research and technology.
A number of companies are active members of CAMMP. They include companies in chemical research such as DuPont, as well as technology companies such as United Technologies and Intek, Inc. CAMMP is also negotiating association with other industrial/academic consortiums such as Environmental Research Institute, establishing a research capability second to none.
In addition, CAMMP has collaborations with a growing number of academic groups. University of Connecticut, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Delft University of Technology (Holland), Purdue University, Cornell University, and Nihon University (Japan) bring diverse ideas to CAMMP's research and development efforts.
