Kem Nwosu is the perfect complement to L.J. McKanas. Nwosu is the slasher, McKanas the bruiser. Their hybrid would be an NFL star according to Coach Colombo. Nwosu spots holes and brings a quicker and more athletic prowess to the game. Nwosu will begin the year as the Huskies' backup tailback, but he will get plenty of carries. 1998: Second on the team with 344 rushing yards...with McKanas out (toe injury), he carried the ball 15 times for a career-high 85 yards in NU's win over Rhode Island...rushed for 20 yards and a TD against Lafayette...had two receptions for 12 yards against Richmond. 1997: First career touchdown was 22-yard scamper against William & Mary...set career highs with 17 rushes for 55 yards at Rhode Island...had 15-yard reception from Jim Murphy against Delaware that set the NU team record for completions in a game (31)...also ran indoor and outdoor track. 1996: Redshirt season. High School: A football and track star at Coyle Cassidy High...in football, named Taunton Gazette All-Star in 1994 and '95...Brockton Enterprise All-Star as a senior...in final year, led league with 1120 yards, 17 TDs and 108 points in 10 games...career day of 209 yards and three TDs came versus Taunton High...All-League in track as well...holds school 100 meter dash record (10.7).
