Chris Magendantz - Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Sixth Season
Bates '91

Chris Magendantz has climbed the ladder at Northeastern from graduate assistant to secondary coach to defensive coordinator, a role he took on for the first time last season. Magendantz was the logical choice when the position opened, since he has been along every step of the way as Northeastern's defense has developed into one of the nation's finest. This year, with former NU assistant Darren Rizzi accepting the head coaching position at New Haven, Magendantz also will take on the specific role of coaching the team's linebackers - a group long-heralded as one of the best in the conference. In his five-year tenure at NU, he has cultivated an expertise in many areas on the defensive side of the ball, including supervision of the secondary and the special teams. It is that varied experience that lended perfectly to Magendantz's promotion to his current role of overseeing the entire defensive game plan.
