Rod Holder enters his first season with the Huskies as coach of the team's tight ends and running backs. Holder, a four-year standout at the University of Miami, will utilize his expertise to guide some of the best skill players in the conference.
Before NU: Began coaching career with the offense at Miami Killian Senior High School...moved straight to Division I as graduate assistant coach of the offensive line, tight ends, and defensive scout team at the University of Illinois...also served as team's recruiting coordinator of players in Southern Florida area...active member of AFCA and the Black Coaches Association.
Playing Career: A four-year letterman and three-year starter at Miami...was twice named All-American honorable mention...helped guide team to two national titles as center and offensive guard...played on the O-line for Miami Dolphins in 1990 mini camp...offensive guard for New York/New Jersey Knights in World League of American Football from 1991-92...named All-State and All-Conference at Linkblom Technical School in Chicago.
Personal: Born April 30, 1967...received degree in Business Administration and Management from Miami in 1990...earned master's degree from Illinois in 1997...lives in Norwood with wife Michelle and son Rod Jr.
