Kito Delgado - #13
Sophomore - WR
6'3 - 197
Schenectady, NY
Bishop Gibbons HS / Boston University

Kito Delgado is set for his first active season as a Husky after playing his freshman year at Boston University and sitting out last year as a redshirt getting acclimated to the NU offense. Delgado was one of the most prized free agents after the BU program was dumped in 1997. Among Husky receivers, only Dave Klemic posted a faster 40 time (4.31) than Delgado's 4.41 in spring testing. He gives the Husky quarterbacks another big target, and he will push starters Klemic and Andy Alsup for playing time. He caught three passes for 82 yards in the annual Spring Game, including a 52-yard touchdown reception. 1998: Redshirted as he took the year acclimating himself to Coach Gallup's system. 1997: Saw action in six games as a true freshman for the now-defunct BU team...caught six passes, including one for six yards in the final Canine Classic...averaged 27.2 yards per catch...had one touchdown reception, coming versus James Madison. High School: Played football, basketball and baseball at Bishop Gibbons High...caught six TD passes and picked off three passes in both his junior and senior seasons...set the school record with an 86-yard TD catch as a senior...named first team All-Conference as a wideout and second team as a defensive back....voted Section II's Exceptional Senior All-Star. Personal: Born Jan. 12, 1979...served as a Big Brother and was a DARE Role Model...NU major is undecided; was enrolled in Metropolitan program at BU...Class of 2002. Career Highs (at BU): Receptions, 2 vs. Delaware (10/4/97)...Receiving Yards, 84 vs. James Madison (11/22/97)...Long Reception, 84 vs. James Madison (11/22/97).
