After a year at linebacker, Jeff Crowley returns to his more natural spot in the secondary at strong safety. With proven veterans Tony Morales and Jabari Powell in front of him, Crowley will not land a starting role, but he will see a lot of action on defense and play on most special teams. His great conditioning continues to impress the coaches. In the spring he demonstrated a 32-inch vertical leap, bench pressed 300 pounds and did 27 straight pull-ups. 1998: As a reserve linebacker and key member of the special teams units, he appeared in seven games...first two career tackles came in the Huskies' 41-7 win over Lafayette in week two...also had two stops against Connecticut. 1997: Redshirt season. High School: Earned one letter in basketball and three each in football, indoor track and outdoor track at Lowell High...in football, selected first team All-Merrimack Valley Conference as a senior captain...holds the record for longest touchdown reception in school history (88 yards)...a high jumper and dash man in track; named indoor track Team MVP as both a junior and senior...selected as outdoor track Team MVP as a junior...a member of the school-record-breaking 4x100 relay team...high school teammate of fellow Husky Chris Degree.
