The loss of 1998 co-captain Seth Huber opened the center position. With veteran Kyle Porter slated to assume that role, Brendan Bledsoe will provide a competitive push for the job in practice, while improving his blocking technique. He has been touted by the coaches as a high-potential player on the line and will play a larger role in years to come. Bledsoe may spend the season at guard if senior Chris Gates takes over backup center responsibilities. 1998: Redshirt season.
