Derek Belejchak is coming off reconstructive left shoulder surgery that forced him to miss spring practices. He is in the mix for a free safety position after a redshirt season, but his injury has been a significant setback in his progress. He will back up Brian Whitman and Jason Farrell and will look to break out next season after Whitman's graduation. 1998: Redshirt season.
