With the loss of 1998 Team MVP Steve Kives comes the difficult task of filling the void left at the middle linebacker position. Steve Anzalone may be the man for the job. Though only a redshirt freshman, Anzalone has shown he is more than ready to jump right into the lineup. He has shown speed for a guy his size (229 pounds), running a 4.8 40. He had a good spring and continues the tradition of tough, physical linebackers. Anzalone will battle with Josh Plosker for a starting role. 1998: Redshirt season. High School: Attended Weymouth High, earning four letters in football, three in basketball, two in track and one in baseball...as a senior, recorded 143 tackles and over 1200 rushing yards...earned All-Scholastic, Coaches All-Star Team and Shriners All-Star honors as a senior...prepped one year at Cushing Academy, leading team to New England Prep title.
