Dave Klemic set a slew of NU receiving records last year, and one of the reasons for his success was wideout partner Andy Alsup. As one of the only players in the league who can run stride for stride with Klemic, Alsup demands attention from opposing defenses. No team could find a way to stop the duo. A prime example was NU's 35-28 win at UNH when Klemic scored three times and Alsup twice. Stronger and more mature, Alsup looks to have a breakout year. 1998: Second on the team in receptions (32), receiving yards (439) and touchdowns (three)...caught two passes for 68 yards and two TDs at UNH...had career-high 98 yards at William & Mary...led the team in punt returns with 22 for 160 yards...also ran track, finishing second in the 400 at the 1999 America East title meet...won the 400 and 200 league titles in '98. 1997: Redshirt season. High School: Earned two letters in football and four in track at Haverhill High...All-State and a Boston Globe All-Scholastic as a senior captain...returned five punts and a kickoff for TDs during his career...an All-Merrimack Valley Conference defensive back as a junior and senior...in track, won two state titles in the 300 and one in the 400...a three-time All-Scholastic pick in track.
